NACB is amountaineering and adventure club – was established on October 29, 2007 with a dream of conquering the Mt. Everest – the top of the world and to set the dignified red-green flag of Bangladesh up there. The club members are the mentors who still are working to take NACB up there on Mt. Everest. It is their ultimate affinity for andto knock down themighty standings of mountains on the way of leaving thyself to a set of challenges and to overcome then. the top of the world and to set the dignified red-green flag of Bangladesh up there. ‘Freedom’ should not be misconstrued as a kind of recklessness. It is an opportunity to choose and do what one wants to do, it is the right to fulfill one’s dreams like any other man and not be bound by gender roles as set by society and family. A father is as important as mother in a child’s life. A daughter is as important and responsible as a son. A wife is as important a homemaker as husband. Therefore a woman should have the freedom to respond to her heart and spread out her wings which in most cases are clipped by traditions. I felt accountable to people around me who do not even matter and certainly are no part of my life. So, as a girl I want to live a life for myself, peruse my choices and contribute to the society as an individual and not surely live up to other people’s expectations because a woman can play multidimensional role as a daughter, a wife, a mother, a professional and so on and so forth.

Though I do not have any experience of trekking or mountaineering but I have a dream to climb Everest. Also like to see the world without any bindings, like to feel the nature.

Public opinion is a weak tyrant compared with our own private opinion. What a man thinks of himself, that is which determines, or rather indicates, his fate.
Henry David Thoreau

Like Thoreau, I want to prove that no matter what people might say to me or whatever their opinion might be about me. It is me who writes the story of my life. We all have our own Mount Everest. And it doesn’t matter if we succeed or fail, if we can give the best we are blessed with. If I think I can make it, I’ll go for it, no matter what. And perhaps I think its now a matter of time when we put the Bangladeshi flag up on that summit of Everest.

Student of life with a vision to make a positive change to the growing negativity of this society, however tiny the effect might be. A cross-country enthusiast, being trained in basic mountaineering course by the North Alpine Club Bangladesh. Climbed several peaks of Bangladesh and did some minor trek at Bandarban and Rangamati in recent years.
