Annapurna IV (7525m / 24682ft) Expedition and Round Annapurna Trek from 27th May to 30th June 2009.

NACB team now at Katmandu, Nepal and reached there on 22nd May for Annapurna IV (7525m / 24682 ft) expedition. This time there are two teams- one team will do the Annapurna IV expedition. Another team will do the Round Annapurna Trek.

Expedition team members are Musa Ibrahim, Tawhid Hossain and Sarin Prakash Pradhan. It will take near about 40 days to accomplish the expedition. These days the weather seems good. And we hired three climbing sherpas this time. Among them one is Everest summiteers. In our team, more or less, each and everybody is experienced regarding mountaineering. So please pray for us so that we can climb the Annapurna IV without having any difficulty. We want to take the Bangladesh Flag high and high as much as we can as we set our dream to climb Everest within 2010. If we could be successful this time, then we will be one step closer to our dream.

And another team of 7 members- Munira Farzana Tania, Dhrubo Joyti Ghosh Mukul, M H Jaiedi Tusher, Abdul Halim, Sk Badruddin Omar, Zahid and Sadekur Rahman will do the Round Annapurna Trek where they have to cross the Thourong La Pass (near about 18000 ft) of Annapurna Himalayan Region.

Through both expeditions, the explorers of Bangladesh and Nepal will get perception of the beauty of Mountains, the Himalayas and the people and weather of those places.

We are trying to mobilize the youth of Bangladesh to make them free, aware of and a leader for combating AIDS and Drugs with a slogan - `Vision 2010 : Mission Everest' with two supporting slogans `Youth Unity against AIDS and Drugs' and `Youth Unity for Eco Mountain and Hill Livelihood'. Our target is to make opportunities for doing adventure in local condition and also in abroad. We are doing mountaineering, trekking, cycling, swimming, jungle survival training, mountaineering technique practice camp, scuba diving and boating expeditions. Simultaneously, we ask the youths to be free from Drugs and to leave the habit of taking drugs though giving them the opportunity to be indulged in adventure. We also make the youth aware about the severe effect of AIDS and its causes. 

NACB is planning to conquer Mt. Everest within 2010 as no Bangladeshi did it ever. NACB members already climbed Mt. Langsisa Ri (20,700 ft) of Nepal on December 01, 2008.
